MANY JIGSAW PUZZLE PARTS

There are simple jigsaw puzzles that are made up of just a few big pieces. Children may find much happiness in being able to fix these jigsaw puzzles. However, when we speak of Projections in Prophecy, we must think of complex jigsaw puzzles!

THE PROJECTION OF THE RETURN OF A MESSIANIC JUDGE

Isaiah 2:3 speaks of how many people would come to Jerusalem to learn from the Lord! However in Isaiah 2:4 we have a completely different picture.

“ He shall judge between the nations,
And rebuke many people;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.”

Isaiah 2:4

1. A Messianic Kingdom
We may describe this text as part of the description of the Messianic Kingdom.

a) In that kingdom the Messiah Himself will be the Judge

b) As He judges He will rebuke the following:-

i) Many nations/people would be rebuked

ii) Weapons of destruction (symbolized by swords and spears) will be obliterated

iii) The metals used to make weaponry would be converted for useful and peaceful purposes

iv) War would cease completely; people would no longer learn the art of war

2. A Projection into the Distant Future
Obviously, this projection concerns the distant future! What is the purpose of giving such a distant projection?

a) To teach man that God loves peace

b) To teach man to believers to strengthen faith and hope

c) To challenge all to pray faithfully that this prophetic word would come to pass

d) To encourage all to study the Scriptures (prophetic) more deeply and with greater wisdom
