1. To give Hope a) The present circumstances may not offer much hope to the heart b) But the prophetic future would give tremendous hope 2. To encourage faith a) Hope is a powerful stimulant to faith b) Faith must be:- i) Re-discovered ii) It must be re-developed iii) It must be re-employed meaningfully in life 3. To deepen knowledge of God a) Only God can predict and fulfil any prophetic vision i) Man can dream about the future, but cannot bring it to pass ii) God offers more than just a dream; He offers a picture of the future that He Himself would bring to pass b) Whereas in the past Israel had a defective view of God; with prophecy a new dimension of the Power of God is brought into sharper focus 4. Prophecy was meant to affect daily life a) The challenge is to study the Scriptures diligently now b) Every effort must be made to comprehend and appreciate how God would bring to pass what He had given as prophecies to His servants to proclaim c) All believers are
challenged to grow in faith, in hope of God fulfilling prophecy!
