THE DANGER OF IGNORANCE


There are many different forms of ignorance. And ignorance is not bliss! The following are deadly forms of ignorance.

1. General ignorance

a) Education

b) Economics

c) Medical

d) Political

Ignorance in these areas would cause a country to plummet to the lowest levels! Poverty will reign and people will suffer

2. Spiritual ignorance

This is also lamentable. The following text from Isaiah expresses deep grief from the Lord where people are ignorant of basic spiritual knowledge.
“The ox knows its owner
and the donkey its master’s crib
But Israel does not know,
My people do not consider” Isaiah 1:3

KNOWLEDGE IN DIFFERENT FORMS

The text above considers different forms of knowledge, but sadly, these were not things that Israel considered!

1. Instinctive or intuitive knowledge

a) An ox knows its owner

b) A donkey appreciates the provision of is master

2. Lack of knowledge

a) Israel did not know God, despite all that the Lord had done for the nation

b) Israel had not acquired knowledge of God, though that was abundantly available

OUR CHALLENGE AS A SUNDAY SCHOOL

Let us be deeply committed to dispensing vital spiritual and Biblical knowledge! The danger of not knowing God is as real today as it was in Isaiah’s time.
