PROMISE TO HEAR AND ANSWER PRAYER

Prayer, to Jesus, was very real and precious. Efforts in prayer were never in vain! Each and every prayer would receive an answer from His Father. The following text brings much encouraging insight.

“Thus says the LORD:
‘In an acceptable time I have heard You,
and in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You
And give You as a covenant to the people, to restore the earth,
To cause them to inherit the desolate heritage.”
Isaiah 49:8

A GREAT AND PROFOUND ANSWER

This answer from the Father to the Messiah-Servant was indeed profound.

1. “In the acceptable time I have heard You”

a) God would always hear

b) He would hear and answer… “in the acceptable time”

2. “I have helped you”

a) Jesus can always depend on the Father’s help

b) He will answer “in the day of salvation”

3. “I will preserve You”

a) There never be the fear of threats from people… or of death

b) One may trust in God’s preserving power

4. “And give you as a covenant to the people”

a) This is a reference to the “New Covenant” that Jesus would establish

b) This covenant would cause Jesus “to restore the earth”

c) This restoration would be so complete that even places that are “desolate” would be blessed and be as good “heritage”

What profound answers may be found in the place of prayer!
