TIME OUT WITH THE FATHER

We read in the Gospels of how Jesus would always take time to be with His Father (Cf. Mark 1:35). How did Jesus spend His time? What would His Father say to Him?

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM THE FATHER

It is not unlikely that Jesus would devote time to dwell on passages like the following.

1. A word concerning ministry to Israel

“But now the LORD says,
Who formed Me from the womb to be His servant,
To bring Jacob back to Him
So that Israel is gathered to Him
(For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD,
and My God shall be My strength).” Isaiah 49:5

a) Refreshing

Jesus would refresh Himself with thoughts about His role as God’s servant

b) Remembering

He would remember the God-given task of bringing Israel back to the Father

c) Renewing

He would remember what it means to be “glorious” in His Father’s eyes. Through it all He would find renewed strength for life and ministry.

2. A word concerning ministry to the world at large

“Indeed He says,
It is too small a thing that You should be My servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob,
And to restore the preserved ones of Israel;
I It is too small a thing that You should be My servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob,
And to restore the preserved ones of Israel;
I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles,
That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth”
Isaiah 49:6

These words, meditated upon and prayed over must have brought so much encouragement to Jesus! Let’s be challenged to set aside time to commune with God too!
