OTHER POWERFUL LESSONS

There were many powerful lessons that Jesus must have learned from His Father. Let us make a list of some of these lessons He learned well and practised in His public ministry.

1. Servanthood

The following texts are significant with reference to the topic of servanthood.

“ You are My servant, O Israel…” Isaiah 49:3

“And now the LORD says,
Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant” Isaiah 49:5

Consider how the Lord Jesus practised Servanthood.

“You call Me Teacher and Lord,
And you say well, for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Teacher,
Have washed your feet, you also ought
To wash one another’s feet.
For I have given you an example,
That you should do as I have done to you.” John 13:13-15

2. Glory

We have another very significant text concerning the subject of glory. The idea of glorifying the Lord, and in turn the Lord being glorified in us was well learned, and well practised.

“You are My servant, O Israel
In whom I will be glorified.” Isaiah 49:3

“I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD” Isaiah 49:5

“I have glorified You on the earth.
I have finished the work which You have given me to do.”
John 17:4

Let us also take time to consider a text written by the apostle Paul. He made reference to the subject of the Lord Jesus being glorified at His Return.

“When He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints
And to be admired among all those who believe…”
2 Thessalonians 1:10

What a wonderful concept we have taught in this text! Let us seek to have the Lord Jesus glorified in our life. May there be much glory when He returns for us.
