What do we do at SSS1?

At SSS1, we believe that youths should be instructed deeply in God’s Word. Students are placed in classes of the same age group. This allows them to study and discuss issues, challenges and problems that are characteristic of their age group.

Each class will study at least two Bible books in a year. We adopt the inductive Bible study approach. The class sessions are highly interactive and enjoyable.

As Paul said in 1 Timothy 4:12-16:

"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you."

What are our goals?

At SSS1, we seek to teach and impart biblical principles and values to our young people so that they may be equipped for every good work and be able to make right choices in life.

As Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:16-17:

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Specifically, we seek to help our young people in the following areas:

  1. Learning what they believe and why they believe it.
  2. Relating Bible principles to problems in life.
  3. Looking to God's Word as a source of spiritual strength through daily devotions and personal Bible study.
  4. Worshipping and praising God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and spiritual blessings.
  5. Facing hardships and tests in the strength of the Lord.
  6. Witnessing to others about the Lord Jesus Christ by talking to them and by living a Christ-like life before them.
  7. Participating meaningfully in church and serving the Lord Jesus through it.
  8. Learning to obey God, their parents, teachers, and other authorities.
  9. Fellowshipping with other Christians, loving other believers and non-Christians.
  10. Praying intelligently for their own needs as well as the needs of others.
  11. Defending vital Bible truths, when the need arises.
  12. Abstaining from not only sins but also questionable practices.
