Introducing
ISS
At ISS, we cater to young teens in the age group of 13 to 16 years old.
This age group is characterized by “change.” Distinctive Features
1. They no longer display the openness of children 2.
Nor do they possess the maturity of adulthood. 3.
They face changes in almost every facet of their life – physical,
emotional, social, mental, for example- a) School
In their school life as they move into secondary school education, young
teens need to wrestle with not just the academic changes but also social
change. b) Social Dimension
New friendships must be forged again. Key Foci of ISS
At ISS, we seek to help our teens to face these changes and be there
for them as well as to help them to relate to God in every aspect of
their life. 1. To impart Biblical values and principles to our students. 2. We also seek to strengthen and deepen the Bible Knowledge of our
students. 3. The curriculum covers Bible books and topics that are relevant to
the students. 4. ‘Knowledge Converter’ is
another focus of ISS.
The Bible knowledge they gained during their earlier years in JSS will
be applied into practical life lessons. We teach our teens to learn
to pray over each decision they have to make and to learn to trust
God about their life and future. ISS Teachers
1. Teachers at ISS are always seeking to build a strong bond
with our students through interaction during & after
class time. Activities like class outings also help bring
the class closer
together. 2. Classes
These are conducted in small groups of 5 to 6 students, so that teachers
can get to know their students personally and to mentor and groom each
student. 3. A special concern for souls
At ISS, we seek to inculcate a burden for those who do not know the Lord
Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
4. Concern for Missions
We also want our students to put their faith into action through their
support of outreach and missions. One example is the ISS’ financial
support of a project in Berakah IPC. Perhaps we can do other similar projects. Through these provisions,
our Indian brethren will be able to minister to all villagers including
non-believers. Through this ministry, we hope to cultivate a greater
missions awareness on the part of our students. |
