THE SOLITARY PLACE
Before the work and toil of day,
Before our tasks we face,
We need to take the time to pray
In the solitary place.
The Master went at early morn
Before the break of day;
Before the hours were spent or worn
He sought a place to pray.
We need the solitary place
For study, thought and prayer;
We need the strength and added grace
He gives while kneeling there.
With courage then we start the day,
With smiles our tasks we face,
For we have taken time to pray
In the solitary place.
