BIBLE MEMORY WORK

The Hope That Is In You

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defence to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear."
1 Peter 3:15

1. This is a challenging text to memorise and to practice.

2. We are challenged to learn how we may give a defence of our faith in God.

3. This is essentially a challenge to be a good witness for the Lord.

4. Practical steps:

  1. Make sure that we revere and honour God in our heart.
  2. Be sure to know what we believe.
  3. Learn how to share with others why we believe what we do.

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

Time: 1.00 pm

Let us really look forward to attending the ACM. Let us consider why we should attend the ACM.

  1. We honour the Lord who has given us our Church.
  2. We fulfill our responsibilities as members.
  3. We encourage each other when we faithfully support.
  4. We strengthen our church when we stand up and be counted.

Let us gather together so that we can have a strong quorum to hold our ACM!

BETHANY FAMILY CAMP

Theme: The Day of the Lord
Date: 11-16 March 2012
Venue: Le Grandeur Palm Resort, Johor

Our Approach towards the study of the Doctrine of The Day of the Lord:

1. We are going to study this Doctrine in close relationship with other Biblical doctrines.

2. All Bible doctrines are in fact integrally related.

3. The doctrine of the Last Days (Eschatology) becomes even more real and relevant when we learn how the doctrines are related. We cite just two examples:

  1. The Second Coming of Christ is related to the Doctrine of Salvation (soteriology).
  2. The Return of Jesus is related to the Doctrine of Christ (Christology).

Let us look forward to a wonderful time of studying the Scriptures in greater depth!

WELCOME BACK

Student-Pastor Titus Balaji returned to Bethany for his last year of pastoral training. He came back on Saturday, 5 February 2012. He was in Chennai on home leave for about a month.

PHOTOGRAPHS FOR 39TH ANNIVERSARY ALBUM

The Planning Committee is thinking of printing an album of family photos to celebrate the Lord's blessings on us.

Four categories of Photos are being explored:

  1. Formal Photos
  2. Casual Photos
  3. Biological Family Photos
  4. Spiritual Family Photos

If you would like to be a part of this year's 39th Anniversary Celebration please contact the Planning Committee. They are made up of the Committee members of AM Bethany and YAG, plus the photographers.

Let's celebrate 39 years of God's blessings in a special way! May this Album testify of the Lord's grace and mercy bestowed on Bethany!
