WELCOME TO BETHANY

We are glad that you have chosen to worship the Lord Jesus with us today. May your heart be blessed as you receive the Word of God proclaimed!

SPECIAL WELCOME TO OUR FRIENDS FROM GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL

Gideons International has been coming annually to Bethany for a number of years now. This Sunday they visit us to give us a word of exhortation concerning their unique ministry of distributing Bibles.

Let us support their work as best we can. Bethany will be giving a love gift to support their work. We also encourage members to give individual support. The team from Gideons will be receiving our love gifts with an open Bible at the Fellowship Hall during Lunch time.

GREETINGS FROM PASTOR CHARLES TAN

Pastor sends greetings to all at Bethany. He will be returning tonight from Perth, W.A.

The devotional books (2 volumes) were written to help us understand the significance of the Book of Hebrews. All worshippers are welcome to help themselves to the devotionals.

SEMINARY TRAINING

In the last few years we were given the privilege of having a home in Paya Lebar Walk made available to us. The home is now no longer available to us from September 2010.

Titus Balaji is presently housed in a rented HDB apartment in Bishan. Let us think about supporting the ministry of training pastors. If you wish to help, please make out your cheques to Bethany Theological Seminary.

Min Yi and Adrian will be married this Saturday, 18 September 2010. The wedding service will commence at 10.30 am. A wedding reception follows. All at Bethany are cordially invited.

POETRY CORNER

THE CRY OF FAITH

Ten leprous men, condemned to die
Thro endless nights and lonely days,
'Unclean, unclean' forlornly cry
To warn unwary passers by
Along the desert ways.

But laws gave way to faith's decree
When Jesus chanced to pass that way.
Ten men, as one, on bended knee
For mercy made an earnest plea
And health was theirs that day.

O weary world, so sick within,
When will you learn in faith to pray?
Their leprosy but types your sin,
And if new life you would begin,
Seek Christ without delay.

Who knows his sin and heeds not holy will,
Who trusts in men for life, is dying still!
Most blessed is he whose spirit thrills
With such a faith as cures a thousand ills!
