ENCOURAGEMENT TO COME TO THE FAMILY CAMP

Text: Psalm 119:9-16

We have many reasons for wanting to spend time to read God's word. The theme of this year's family Camp challenges us to devote time to comprehend how we can rightly divide the word of God! The following promises of Blessing will come to those who truly have God's word in their heart!

  1. The promise of cleansing from our sinful ways (Psalm 119:9)!
  2. The promise of being kept from sin (Psalm 119:11).
  3. The promise of joy through understanding God's word (Psalm 119:14).

Plan to sign up for the Church Family Camp as soon as possible! Your signing up early is deeply appreciated!

LETTERS THAT WARM THE HEART

From Mrs. Nancy Lee

"Dear Pastor,

Simply a wreath from the church but also a gift embodies much - the sense of great strength and support from the family in Christ and His gracious gentle presence ever with His children at all times.

Thank you all at Bethany, pastors and Session Members, and brethren for your warm support and your presence on the passing away of my Mum Mdm Tay Soo Kiang on 17 January 2010. It is truly an honour and privilege to be a part of this caring church."

POETRY CORNER

ROCKED IN THE CRADLE OF THE DEEP

Rocked in the cradle of the deep
I lay me down in peace to sleep;
Secure I rest upon the wave,
For Thou, O Lord, hast power to save.
I know Thou wilt not slight my call,
For Thou dost mark the sparrow's fall;
And calm and peaceful shall I sleep,
Rocked in the cradle of the deep.

When in the dead of night I lie
And gaze upon the trackless sky,
The star-bespangled heavenly scroll,
The boundless waters as they roll -
I feel Thy wondrous power to save
From perils of the stormy wave.
Rocked in the cradle of the deep
I calmly rest and soundly sleep.

And such the trust that still were mine,
Though stormy winds swept o'er the brine,
Or though the tempest's fiery breath
Roused me from sleep to wreck and death.
In ocean cave still safe with Thee
The gem of immortality!
And calm and peaceful shall I sleep
Rocked in the cradle of the deep.

Emma Willard
