PSALM 103

PRAISING THE LORD ESPECIALLY WITH REFERENCE TO HIS MERCY

A. Exalting the Lord whole heartedly Vs 1

B. Remembering the Lord's many blessings especially His mercies. Vs 2
a. There is the forgiveness of sins Vs 3
b. There is healing of sicknesses Vs 3
c. There is redemption from death Vs 4
d. There is the satisfying of our needs Vs 5
e. There is the renewal of our strength Vs 5
f. There is the Lord's mercies…the crowning glory of the Lord's blessings Vs 4

C. Different examples of the Lord's mercies
1. Examples of the way in which the Lord extends His mercies
a. Through showing justice to the oppressed Vs 6
b. Through revealing Himself to man…with reference to Moses and His people. Vs 7
c. Through being gracious and showing restrain in His anger Vs 8
d. Through not continuing in His anger against us Vs 9
e. Through not meting out deserved judgment for our sins Vs 10

2. To whom will the Lord extend His mercies
a. Those who fear Him Vs 17
b. Those who maintain a covenant relationship with God vs 18
c. Those who are obedient to God's word Vs 18

D. Powerful reasons that move God to grant us His mercy
1. The Lord sympathizes with us Vs 13
2. The Lord knows that we are nothing…but dust Vs 14
3. The Lord knows the frailty of the life of man Vs 15,16
