Isaiah 33
OCCASION
FOR PRAYER
1. In the midst of those who plunder
Isa 33:1
2. In the midst of those who deal treacherously Isa 33:1
3. In the midst of trouble
Isa 33:2
PRAYER
AMIDST DEEP DISTRESS
1. For grace to be extended "O Lord, be gracious to us"
Isa 33:2
2. For strength "Be their arm every morning"
Isa 33:2
3. For "salvation (deliverance) in the time of trouble"
Isa 33:2
ANTICIPATION
OF THE LORD ANSWERING PRAYER
1. The people (bad ones) shall flee Isa
33:3
2. The nations shall be scattered
Isa 33:3
3. The Lord will be exalted
Isa 33:5
4. He will bring about justice, righteousness, wisdom, knowledge,
stability Isa 33:5-6,

THOSE
WHO REMAIN SINFUL
1. They have every reason to fear
Isa 33:7-14
2. Diplomacy does not work with God
Isa 33:7-9
3. Hypocrisy even less
Isa 33:14
WHO
THEN WILL ENJOY THE LORD'S PRESENCE?
God
is described as a "devouring fire" and "everlasting
burnings"

1. He who walks righteously
Isa 33:15
2. He who speaks uprightly
Isa 33:15
3. He who despises the gain of oppressions Isa 33:15
4. He who refuses bribes
Isa 33:15
5. He who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed
Isa 33:15
6. He who shuts his eyes from seeing evil Isa 33:15
THE
SPECIAL PLACE OF THOSE WHO WALK WITH THE LORD
1. He will dwell on high
Isa 33:16
2. His place of defence will be the fortress of rocks
Isa 33:16
3. Bread will be given to him; his water will be sure
Isa 33:16
4. He will see the beauty of the King
Isa 33:17
5. He will see the land of the King
Isa 33:17
CONFIDENCE
IN THE LORD'S BLESSINGS ON JERUSALEM
1. Jerusalem will be a "quiet home" Isa 33:20
2. "A tabernacle that will not be taken down"
Isa 33:20
3. The Lord will provide "a place of broad rivers and
streams" Isa
33:21
4. The Lord will bring about salvation for He is "Judge,
Lawgiver, King" Isa
33:22
THE
TERRORS OF OLD WILL BE GONE FOREVER
No more need to worry about whether there will be "scribes, merchants, administrators" Isa 33:28-29
