Isaiah 24

JUDGEMENT AGAINST THE INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH

2. "The earth mourns and fades away

The world languishes and fades away" Isa 24:4

3. "Therefore the curse has devoured the earth

And those who dwell in it are desolate" Isa 24:6

4. "The new wine fails, the vine languishes" Isa 24:7

5. "The earth is violently broken

    The earth is split open

The earth is shaken exceedingly" Isa 24:19

6. "The Lord will punish on high the most exalted ones and on earth the kings of the earth" Isa 24:21

CHARGES AGAINST THE INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH

1. "The earth is defiled under its inhabitants" Isa 24:5

2. "They have transgressed the laws" Isa 24:5

3. "(They have) changed the ordinance" Isa 24:5

4. "(They have) broken the everlasting covenant" Isa 24:5

Isaiah 25 (A Song of Praise)

Theological Appreciation of the Judgement of God

1. Reference to the Judgement of God

    A fortified city a ruin

A palace of foreigners to be a city no more" Isa 25:2

"You will reduce the noise of the aliens

The song of the terrible ones will be diminished" Isa 25:5

2. The Judgement of God upheld and praised

    "You have done wonderful things;

Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth" Isa 25:13.

3. The Faithfulness of God Exalted

"You have been a strength to the poor

A strength to the needy in his desires

    A refuge from the storm

A shade from the heat..." Isa 25:4

4. The Eternal Salvation Plan of God appreciated

"He will swallow up death forever

And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces" Isa 25:8

    "Behold, this is our God:

    We have waited for Him,

    And He will save us

    This is the LORD

    We have waited for Him:

We will be glad and rejoice

    In His salvation" Isa 25:9
